Dubai 3-25-08 Morning Session 1 017.JPG

Diamond Stripes, one of two Richard Dutrow trainees in Dubai, will go postward in the Godolphin Mile.  He moved with ease this morning.  My 2007 Breeders' Cup was none too profitable and after things continued downward, I ended up pinning my day on the hopes of a Diamond Stripes upset in the Classic.  It was a futile wager, as I had expected, but I gave it a go.  His odds on the international commingled market are likely to be much lower than they were at Monmouth Park.

Nothing about Dubai should remind Diamond Stripes of the Meadowlands.  His greatest successes have come in the swamp, winning last fall's Meadowlands Cup Handicap [G2] and a year before, taking the Pegasus [G3].  Of course, he will be lacking his usual Lasix treatment.
